Tip Lamberson made only 730 flutes. This one was made in 1971, relatively early in his career as a flute maker. It’s a very fine example of Lamberson’s craftsmanship. The mechanism is sturdy and beautifully constructed.

Its sound is also a fine example of the depth and resonance Lamberson’s flutes are known for. It has a brightness and clarity reminiscent of vintage French flutes. The tonal quality is consistent in all registers. The scale is also remarkably even.

Pads are felt and in good condition. They are sealing well and should last for at least a couple more years of regular playing. The flute comes with its original wooden case. The original leather carrying case has been lost to time.
