This flute was made for the United States Army Quartermaster Corp, so the initials USQC are stamped on the headjoint, body, and foot. The flute was originally made with closed holes, but the owner had Gary Lewis convert it to open holes in 1998.

The flute is an exceptional player. Its sound is very flexible in the low register. The middle register has a brilliant tone that transforms into a lovely French sound in the third register. Overall, it has a clean, crisp sound. A gem!

The pads are in very good condition and seal well. The flute plays well at A=440 Hz with the headjoint pulled out to 1/8″. The case is original, and the latches are functional.
