George Haynes, the brother of William S Haynes, was instrumental in inventing the drawn tone hole process. Although George worked in a different division of the Haynes corporation, he designed a line of flutes in partnership with Selmer. These flutes bore the name George Hanes, Inc., though George had no involvement after the initial stages of his partnership with Selmer.

The low register is flexible and easy to play, with lots of fundamental sound. The upper registers are clean and crisp. The pads are new and seal the tone holes well. The flute also has a B shake, which can be converted to a Bb shake. It comes with a newer case.
