Denner/von Huene Baroque Flute

Back to list of flutes.

  • Replica, made in 1991
  • Ivory
  • D-Foot and C-Foot
  • A=415 Hz

This one-of-a-kind replica of the c. 1720 Denner flute, which is now in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg. This replica was made by Friederich von Huene in 1991 and has been with its second owner since 1995.  The flute has a deep, well-centered, earthy, and flexible sound with the D-foot.  The C-foot brings a remarkable focus and evenness to every tone as well as offering a resonant low C.  The A=415 Hz scale is superb with either foot.  This is truly the platinum of Baroque flutes!  The flute is in perfect condition and actually plays better than new, partly because it was originally fitted with cork, which held back the flute’s resonance. The new fittings now encourage the flute’s full resonance.
