The sound on this flute is quintessentially Buffet-Carmpon – sweet with a touch of earthiness. The low register is flexible, ranging from hollow to dense. The upper registers are lyrical, and the overtones are well-balanced.

The flute features unplated maillechort (nickel brass). Theobald Boehm described unplated maillechort as having a sound similar to wood. The flute also has B and G shake keys. (The B shake can be converted to a Bb shake.)

The pads are new and seal very well. The flute plays well at 440 Hz with the headjoint pulled out 1/8-1/4″. The flute is housed in a non-original case.
