With its thicker tubing, the sound of this flute is slightly denser than that of traditional Louis Lot flutes of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The tone has sweetness and depth, yet a touch of brilliance to carry it across an orchestra and into the concert hall.

The flute also plays well at A=440 Hz and A=442 Hz, with the head pulled out at 1/8″ – 1/4″. The scale is even and reliable in both the left and right hands. No awkward adjustments are required. If you are new to vintage French flutes, this would be an ideal flute to start with because of its user-friendly scale and modern pitch.
